When I found this sister's marriage record it clearly said Katharina. They have a funny way of making their K! Residence at time of marriage Vidose, house #47. She was age 24 and single. Parents: Georg Maleric marked as deceased, and Katharina Majerle.
Born as Muslim - Changed to Christianity as teen. Traveled throughout the Middle East as a missionary prior to settling in Bethlehem.
Graduated in commerce from St. Mary College, Halifax. He has a licentiate in music from Dalhouse University and from the Maritime Acadamy of Music.
Mary entered the Sisters of Charity of Halifax on September 8, 1944. She took the religious name of Sister Frances Teresa. She taught in Amherst, N.S. (1947-1953), Vancouver, B.C. (1953-1963 and 1976-1986), Edmonton, Alberta (1963-1976) and came to work as an assistant archivist at the Motherhouse in September of 1986. She was appointed Archivist in the fall of 1990 after the death of her predecessor, Sister Margaret Flahiff. She retired from this position in January of 2000. After the death of her husband in 1916, Theresa moved to Halifax with her family of six children (probably the fall of 1919). In early November, 1923, she moved to Boston with her two youngest children, Florence and Robert.
